Darlene Smith, age 71, of Decatur, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 28, 2025 at Decatur General Hospital surrounded by her family. Darlene was born August 1, 1954 in Knox County, Tennessee, she was the daughter to the late Richard G Holland and Marjorie Turner Holland.
She is survived by her husband, Gary Smith, her two children, daughter, Andrea Partridge (Alan) and son, Jared Smith (Renae), her grandchildren, Paisley Smith, Katie Partridge, Kinley Smith, and Kyle Partridge, and mother, Marjorie Turner Monk (Cecil).
She was a member of Cedar Ridge Baptist Church. She retired from Decatur City School System after 25 years: She loved the outdoors, cooking, farming, and spending time with her grandchildren. Darlene was an avid Alabama Football Fan. Gary and Darlene were married 50 years in September, 2025.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday December 31, 2025, from 2:00 to 3:00 PM at Decatur Brown Service Funeral Home Chapel. Service to follow at 3:00 PM. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery.
