Ed WilliamsEdward Charles Williams, age 75 of Fort Payne, passed away on Tuesday, December 23, 2025 at his residence. He was born on October 30, 1950 in Fort Payne to the late Louis & Lois Stallings Williams. Ed was the owner and operator of Williams Wrecker Service. He was a veteran of the United States Army where he served in Vietnam. He was a member of the VFW and of the Alabama Towing Association.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Wednesday, December 31, 2025 at the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with burial following in the Walnut Grove Cemetery with military honors. The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the funeral home. The family is accepting flowers or memorial contributions may be made to the Dekalb Animal Adoption Center.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Joyce Williams; children, Brian (Deborah) Smith, Angie (Jason) Smith, Chad Williams (Christy Noojin); chosen son, Kevin Hulgan (Teri Farmer); sister & brother-in-law, Wanda (Billy) Payne; grandchildren, Kali, Kyli, Paige, Kohen, and Emma; great-grandchildren, Norah and Judah; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis Williams, Jr. and Lois Stallings Clements; infant brother, Charles Edward Williams; sister, Brenda Gass; grandparents, Luke & Hazel Stallings; and step-father, Charles Clements.
The family would like to send a special thanks to all of the first responders, medical staff, caregivers, and various nursing homes who helped take care of Ed these last four years. 2 Timothy 4:7
