Martha Clark Carter, 79, of Athens, passed away on Friday, December 26th, 2025, at her residence. Mrs. Carter was born on January 3rd, 1946, in Athens, to William and Elsie (Bradford) Clark.
Mrs. Carter is survived by her daughter, Amanda Kemp (Aaron); grandson, Chase Haggenmaker (Skye); and great-grandson, Slayden Haggenmaker.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Gary Carter; parents, William and Elsie Clark; and siblings.
The funeral service for Mrs. Carter will be Sunday, December 28th, 2025, at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home, at 2:00 p.m., with Jimmy Clark officiating. Visitation will be Sunday, from 12:00 to 1:45 p.m., at funeral home. Pallbearers will be Jimmy Holland, Chase Haggenmaker, Randy Holland, Jim Agee, Brian Manley, and Elliott Agee. Honorary pallbearer will be Slayden Haggenmaker. Burial will be at Bethel Cemetery.
Mrs. Carter retired from Steelcase after working there for over twenty-five years.
