Sarah Mavis Lemons Sarah Mavis Lemons, 90 of Arab passed away Thursday, December 25, 2025. She was born August 1, 1935, in Marshall County the daughter of Robert Wray and Myrtle Brand Wray. She was known for her unwavering faith, wisdom and kindness. She cherished time spent with family and friends, found comfort in reading her Bible, and enjoyed listing to music. She was a compassionate listener, always ready with honest, Godly advice, loving everyone equally. Her life was a testimony to the goodness of God and her strong faith in him. She was the beloved wife of Gene L. Lemons for almost 48 years at the time of his passing, January 6, 2000.

She is survived by her grandchildren: Todd (Tisha) Lemons and Heather (Jeff) Dugins; great grandchildren: Brayden (Megan) Dugins, Brody (Chole) Dugins, Rylee Dugins and Karson (Landon) Nelson; great-great grandchild: Truett Nelson. Her legacy also includes a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, church family and many dear friends. She was preceded in death by her husband: Gene Lemons; son: Ricky Lemons; daughters: Celesia Bethune and Denise Lemons; brothers: Olbert Wray, Norris Wray and R. D. Wray; sisters: Opal Compton and Virgie Carter; nephew: Vicky Wray Compton.

Funeral Service will be 3:00 p.m. Sunday, December 28, 2025, at Gober Funeral Chapel with Pastor Keith Hodges officiating. The burial will be in Union Grove Cemetery, Lacey’s Spring.

Visitation will be 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. Sunday at Gober Funeral Chapel.

Mavis will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving her. She will be remembered for her kindness, patience and compassion.
