Betty Roberts Salsman, age 93, of Lewisburg, Tennessee, passed away Thursday, December 25, 2025, at NHC Oakwood.

She was born October 3, 1932, in Marshall County, Tennessee, to the late Porter Roberts and Mai Dockery Roberts. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Salsman, Sr.

She is survived by two daughters, Becky (George) Warren of Petersburg and Patty (Coy) McNutt of Rogersville, AL; son John (Jan) Salsman, Jr. of Cornersville; sister Joan Bills of Lewisburg; four grandchildren and two step grandchildren; four great grandchildren and four step great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren and two step great great grandchildren.

She spent her early years working as a switchboard operator at South Central Bell, a role that suited her steady nature and her gift for connecting with people. Later, she brought that same dedication to her work as a factory worker at Genesco, where she was known for her reliability and strong work ethic.

Outside of work, she found joy in the simple, meaningful parts of life. She loved cooking, filling her home with comforting meals and familiar smells. Her appreciation for flowers showed in the way she tended to them, always noticing the beauty in small things. She was an avid reader, but nothing delighted her quite like a good crossword puzzle, which she approached with patience, curiosity, and a sharp mind. And of course, her dogs held a special place in her heart. They were her companions, her joy, and part of her daily rhythm. She cherished the moments that mattered most — spending time with her family and grandchildren, who were the heart of her world. Whether gathered around a table, sharing stories, or simply enjoying each other’s company, those were the times that brought her the greatest joy.

Visitation with the family will be held on Sunday, December 28, 2025, from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm at London Funeral Home and Crematory, 324 W. Church Street, Lewisburg, TN, followed by the graveside service at 2:15 pm at Lone Oak Cemetery with burial to follow.

London Funeral Home and Crematory is honored to assist the family with arrangements.
