Mary Jean Stovall Hall, 93, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 22, 2025. Born in Jackson County, Alabama, she made her home in Huntland, Tennessee for most of her life. She was the daughter of the late Finis and Angie Stovall of Huntland.

Jean was preceded in death by her beloved husband, William Hall, and her son, William Hall Jr. She was the last surviving member of the eight Stovall siblings and was preceded in death by her brothers Richard (Houston) Stovall, Wayne Stovall, Wanness Stovall, and Edward Stovall; her sisters Christine Stovall Prince, Stella Stovall Jernigan, and Joyce Stovall Moore; as well as several nieces and nephews.

She is survived by her son Michael (Annette) Hall of Lynchburg; her grandson William “Trey” Hall III of Huntland; and many cherished nieces and nephews.

Jean devoted more than 25 years of service to the Huntland School cafeteria, where she was known for her kindness and her love of cooking—especially her chocolate no-bake cookies. A faithful member of Donalson Grove Baptist Church since 1944, she treasured her church family and continued her Bible reading for as long as her eyesight allowed.

To Jean, family was everything. She was a gentle, generous soul with a giving heart, and her presence brought warmth to all who knew her. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.

Visitation will be from 10am-2pm on Saturday, December 27, 2025, at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral Services will follow at 2:00pm in the Chapel of Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Interment will be at Frankin Memorial Gardens.
