ATHENS-Lucas Street Church of Christ in Athens reached out to the Mayor’s Office about a family in need of clothing and shoes for three children for Christmas. The church was helping some but needed assistance to make it a great Christmas.
Santa’s Elves in Blue answered the call! Chief Anthony Pressnell said the department had money left from the Singing River Smoke-O-Rama donation, and the elves joined Lucas Street for a shopping trip today.
Santa often calls on his Elves in Blue to assist him in making sure kids enjoy Christmas. On Christmas Day, these elves will randomly deliver toys to kids in our community. The gifts won’t be on a sleigh, but the trunks of our patrol cars will be packed with toys.
