Limestone County Narcotics Unit Makes Trafficking Arrests Following Traffic Stop and Search Warrant Execution

ATHENS-On December 15, 2025, the Limestone County Narcotics Unit conducted a traffic stop at the Taco Bell located in the City of Athens as part of an ongoing narcotics investigation. During the stop, investigators located approximately 28 grams of methamphetamine inside the vehicle.

As a result of the investigation, Bradley Michael Rouse, 48, of Athens, Alabama, was arrested and charged with Trafficking in Methamphetamine. No bond has been set at this time.

Following the traffic stop and continued investigation, the Limestone County Narcotics Unit, with assistance from Patrol Deputies, executed a search warrant at a residence on Reynard Street in the City of Athens. During the search, investigators located approximately 100 grams of methamphetamine, one pistol, and approximately $3,000 in U.S. currency.

Michael Paul Mondell, 45, of Athens, Alabama, was arrested and charged with Trafficking in Methamphetamine and Possession of a Pistol by a Violent Felon. Mondell has a prior conviction for Facilitation of Second-Degree Murder in Jefferson County, Tennessee. No bond has been set at this time.

“These arrests are the result of proactive investigative work and strong teamwork by our Narcotics Unit and Patrol Deputies,” said Limestone County Sheriff Joshua McLaughlin. “Methamphetamine continues to be a serious threat to our community, and we will aggressively pursue those who traffic these dangerous drugs. Our message is clear: if you bring narcotics into Limestone County, you will be held accountable.”
