Funeral Services for Mr. Larry Thomas Buckhannan, age 76 of Delta, will be held on Saturday, December 20, 2025 at Center West Baptist Church at 2:00 P.M. with Bro. Mark Williams officiating. Burial with Masonic Rites will be held in the adjoining cemetery.
Mr. Buckhannan passed away on Wednesday, December 17, 2025 at the Clay County Nursing Home. He was born and raised in Lineville and was a 1967 graduate of Lineville High School. After high school, he moved to Atlanta and began working for Richie’s department store, and then worked for the baggage department for Greyhound Bus Station. After one year, he moved home and began working as an equipment operator for his father’s business, then began his over 40 year career as a truck driver. He drove for Romey Trucking in Delta, was a logger for Hornady trucking out of Ragland, and lasty drove for B.R. Williams trucking out of Oxford. Mr. Buckhannan enjoyed fishing and sitting with Mr. Johnny Summerlin in Delta waving at passing cars. He enjoyed a good conversation, because he never met a stranger, and was a jokester with his family and friends.
Mr. Buckhannan is survived by two daughters: Sonia Harris (Keith) of Delta and Mona Flowers (Rodney) of Lineville; four grandchildren: Kyle Matthew Harris (Morgan), Nathan Walker, Haylea Brown (Matthew), and Hannah Pearl Flowers; three great-grandchildren: Josie Brown, LittieAnn Harris, and Charlie Harris; his baby sister, Beverly Graben (Andy) of Oxford; the mother of his children, Shirley Buckhannan of Lineville, plus other extended family.
He was preceded in death by his parents: William Thomas and Eulene Smith Buckhannan.
Active Pallbearers will be Kyle Harris, Nathan Walker, Adam Graben, Kevin Graben, Seth Graben, and Bobby Bolt. Honorary Pallbearers will be Haylea Brown, Hannah Pearl Flowers, and Ella Graben.
His visitation will begin on Saturday, December 20, 2025 at Center West Baptist Church at 12:00 P.M. until service time at 2:00 P.M.
