Betty Lindsay Taylor Betty Lindsay Taylor, age 91, of Athens, passed from this life on December 11th, 2025. Visitation will be at Friendship Church, on December 13th, 2025, at 9:00 a.m., followed by a memorial service at 10:00 a.m., with Pastor Steve Dorning officiating. Interment will be at Athens City Cemetery immediately following the service.

Betty Lindsay Taylor was born on June 27th, 1934, in Athens, AL. She was preceded in death by her husband, Huston Taylor; her parents, Charles H. Lindsay II and Margaret Hammons Lindsay; her brothers, Charles H. (Bobby) Lindsay III and Larry Eugene Lindsay. She is survived by two daughters, Tina (Robin) Downs and Rita (Rodney) White; three grandsons, Tayor Yelverton, Jesse (Gracie) Downs, and Zachary (Riley Adams) White; nieces, nephews, other family members; and special caregiver, Norma Stewart.

Betty attended Tanner High School and graduated from Athens High School. On October 10th, 1952, she married Huston Taylor and within a few years had two daughters. Betty was a devout Christian and an active member of Friendship Church, where she enjoyed attending the Grace Sunday School class.

Pallbearers will be Lewis Lindsay, Lee Lindsay, Lane Lindsay, Jamie Hammons, Randy Hamilton, John Taylor, and Tracy Lowery. Honorary Pallbearers are Robin Downs, Rodney White, grandsons: Taylor, Jesse and Zac, Jerry Hammons, Robert (Bob) Collins, and John Hammons.
