Elizabeth Anne ShepardElizabeth Anne Richardson Shepard, 91, of Brownsboro, passed away on Wednesday, December 3, 2025 in Birmingham, AL.

Elizabeth was a member and elder of First Cumberland Presbyterian Church of Huntsville for 70 years. She served as CPW Convention President, Children’s Director 1st CP Church Huntsville, taught Sunday School and directed the children’s choir. For many years she was camp counselor  at Crystal Springs Camp, and received the Golden Patriot Membership honor from the CP Church for 50 years of service.

She led the Gad Abouts Senior Group and was a volunteer at the Huntsville Learning Center. Elizabeth was honored to be the Worthy Matron at Gurley Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star. Her working career consisted of serving as a teacher’s aide at Big Cove School, secretary at the Madison County Technical Center and Madison County Board of Education. Elizabeth adored her family and cherished life to the fullest. She will be greatly missed and we will be forever influenced by the way she lived her life.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Billy David Shepard; parents, Wilbur and Edna Richardson and brother Rev. W. Jean Richardson.

Survivors include her son David Shepard (Judy); daughter Darlynn Hooks (Mike); grandchildren, Lauren Shepard (Devin) and Brandon Shepard; several nieces, nephews and a host of other family and friends.

The family will have a funeral service at Huntsville First Cumberland Presbyterian Church on Saturday, December 13th at 11:00 AM with visitation from 9:30 –11:00 at the church. Rev. Richard Hughes will be officiating. Pallbearers will be Brandon Shepard, Devin Swank, Loren Craig Cameron Craig, Bobby Hopkins, and Greg Shepard .
