Charles Aubrey Wright, age 93, of River Road in Dora, Alabama, passed away in his home on November 27, 2025. He was born on September 15, 1932, to Richard and Arminda Wright of Warrior, Alabama.
Charles was a lifelong truck driver who took great pride in his work and loved the freedom of the open road. He enjoyed traveling, exploring new places, and listening to his favorite country music. He also loved visiting the casinos, sharing a good laugh, and brightening the day with his great sense of humor and quick wit. Above all, Charles cherished the companionship of his little dog, Molly.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Jeanette Wright, and his son, Vic Wright. He is survived by his children, Sheila Dollar, Sherry McCain (Larry), Brenda Dollar (Michael), and Philip Wright (Pam); and by numerous grandchildren, including Angela Painter (Jimmy), Joel McCain (Jennifer), Jeff Wright (Kathy), Bran Higgins, Mark Wright, Chad Wright, Shannon Wright, Mike Dollar, Michelle Dollar, Jeff Wright (Kathy), and Amanda Wright (Ryan). Charles also leaves behind many great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews who will forever hold his memory close.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, at Partridge Crossroads Baptist Church on Warrior Jasper Road at 11:00 am, with interment to follow. Pallbearers will be Rick Chappell, Larry McCain, Michael Dollar, Jimmy Painter, Joel McCain, and Jeff Wright.
Charles’ family will deeply miss his warmth, humor, and joy he brought into their lives. His memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved him.
