Dianne Lynn Mowery, 80, of Lincoln, Alabama passed away peacefully on Monday, November 17, 2025 with family by her side. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and “Gigi” to her cherished great-granddaughters.
Dianne loved her friends and family deeply, and devoted the latter half of her life to being a caretaker for her young granddaughter, then her elderly mother, and then her daughter as she faced the challenges of MS.
A lifelong animal lover, Dianne rarely passed a stray pet without stopping to either help or bring it home. She also had a passion for horseback riding. Even after a serious fall in her younger years left her with a broken back, she climbed right back into the saddle; a testament to both her determined spirit and love for horses.
Dianne is preceded in death by her parents, William and Betty Sue Smitherman; her husband, Wayne Mowery; and a brother, Bill Smitherman. Her memory lives on with her daughter, Becky King; her granddaughter, Heather (William) Hatch; and her beloved great-granddaughters, Rosalind and Lillian Hatch.
