Maxie Raymond Childress III, 64, of New Hope, passed away at his home Wednesday, November 19, 2025. He was born March 27, 1961 in Alabama to Maxie Raymond Childress Jr. and Pearl Canida Childress.
Mr. Childress is preceded in death by his parents; son, Michael Douglas Childress; daughter-in-law, Bobby Leigh Childress; and brothers, Buddy Childress and Roy Lee Johnson; and sister, Libby Endsley.
Surviving are his wife, Kathleen Maxwell Childress; sons, Eric DeWayne Childress and Jesse Raymond (Amanda) Childress; grandchildren, Aiden, Olivia, and Justus; sisters, Patricia Scarbrough, Teresa Daws, Mary Ann Carter, Alice Faye Rowland and Martha Ray Proctor; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Saturday 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at New Hope Funeral Home. Services will follow at New Hope Funeral Home Chapel, Saturday at 1:00 PM.
Interment will be in Gatlin Cemetery.
