Shirley Sue Satterfield, 86, of Meridianville, Alabama, passed away on November 21, 2025, at her home. She was born on December 29, 1938, in Hazel Green, Alabama, to the late Loyd and Bertha (Sanders) Sullivan.
Born and raised in Madison County, Shirley was a proud graduate of Hazel Green High School. She loved crafts of all kinds and especially enjoyed making jewelry to take to local craft shows. She loved a good time, cherished every moment spent with her family, and her favorite season was Christmas. A devoted Christian and God-fearing woman, she stood firm in her beliefs and lived her life with faith and conviction.
Shirley is survived by her husband of 68 years, Justin Satterfield; her sons, Randy (Merri) Satterfield and Kenn (Jim) Satterfield; daughter-in-law, Donna Satterfield; grandchildren, Michael (Jessica) Satterfield, Robert (Shawna) Satterfield, Karlee (Zach) Clark, Trevor (Morgan) Satterfield, Jessie Satterfield, Zach (Erin) Satterfield, Rachel Satterfield, and Megan Satterfield; and 11 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by many extended family members and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Mike Satterfield, and four sisters.
The family will receive friends at Hazel Green Funeral Home on November 25, 2025, from 12:00 PM until 1:00 PM. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 PM at Hazel Green Funeral Home with Steve Crigger officiating. Interment will be at Maple Hill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hacienda of Hope or the Alzheimer’s Association.
