Barry Eugene Jones, 63 of Gadsden, passed away Nov.19, 25 at Gadsden Regional Medical Center.
Barry was a native of Dora. He graduated from West Jefferson High School, class of 1980. He began working as a Computer Engineer with Citizen’s Telephone Co. right after high school, with his uncle, Scott Hall. He was a member of the Primitive Baptist faith. He was a Little League softball and baseball coach for 12 years in Transylvania County, NC. Among the greatest loves in his life was spending time with his grandchildren, fishing and Alabama football.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dickie and Trudy Jones.
Survivors include his children, Amber Dawn Jones, Rebecca Louise Jones, Johnobed Jones and Dustin William Thompson, grandchildren, Brody William Thomas, Zella Eden Jones, Parker McKinley Jones, Leo James Mac Shunoski, Evelyn Dawn Jones, Maddox Thompson and Ryder Thompson, siblings, Jennifer Jones Knapp, Susan Jones O’Neal (William “Bandit”) and Betsy Fontaine (Terry), several nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be Saturday Nov. 29, 25 at 11:00 am in the New Horizon Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow in McCormack Cemetery. Visitation is from 10-11 am.
