Mrs. Betty Joyce Griffin Holland, age 81, of Arab, Alabama, passed away peacefully at Barfield Heath Care in the early morning hours of Friday, November 21, 2025. Born on July 28, 1944, in Etowah County, Alabama, she was the beloved daughter of James Truman “JT” Griffin and Wynona Corene Slaton. Betty shared over sixty-three wonderful years of marriage with her devoted husband, Marston L. Holland.
Throughout her professional life, Betty worked in the assembly and production department at Bobo Engineering. She was a faithful member of New Friendship Baptist Church, joyfully serving as the church pianist for many years and enriching services with her musical talent.
Betty’s passions included enjoying nature and trees, gardening, landscaping, cooking, and traveling. She treasured time spent watching, encouraging and supporting her grandchildren and great grandchildren at their various sporting events.
Family members Betty leaves behind to cherish their memories include her husband, Marston Holland, sons, Marty G. Holland (Sheila), and Dustin Holland (Stacie);grandchildren, Evan Holland (Aubrey) and Wesley Holland; great grandchild, Henley Rae Holland; sister, Gail Sutphin; niece, Lindsay Sutphin; nephew, John-Ryan McAnnally (Kimberly).
Betty is preceded in death by her parents, JT and Wynona Griffin and her sister, Marilyn McAnnallly.
Services are planned for Monday, November 24, 2025 at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel. Friends and family will gather for visitation at 1:00pm until the funeral service begins at 2:00pm. Interment will be in the New Friendship Cemetery. Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel entrusted with arrangements.
