Billy “Gerald” Holderfield, age 84, of Albertville, Alabama, passed away on November 18, 2025, at his residence. He was born on March 6, 1941, to the late Bill and Avis Holderfield. On February 10, 1962, he married the love of his life, Betty Holderfield, and they shared 62 years together before her passing in 2024.
Gerald worked faithfully for Mitchell Grocery from 1965 until his retirement in 2009. He was a devoted member of High Point Baptist Church. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing and spending quality time with his family.
He is survived by his sons, Billy Holderfield, Jr. and William Shane Holderfield; siblings, Tommy (Jan) Holderfield, Nancy Walker, Michael Holderfield, and Chris (Jerry) Scott; along with a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to his wife and parents he was preceded in death by his grandson, Alec Cameron; and siblings, Darlene Thrash, Byron Holderfield, and Hillary Holderfield.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, November 24, 2025, in the Chapel of Adams Brown Service Funeral Home with Bro. Larry Camp officiating. Burial will follow in High Point Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home beginning at 12:00 p.m. prior to the service.
