Winston Dolfos Moats, 86, of Sheffield, passed away on Saturday, November 8, 2025. Visitation will be Wednesday, November 12, from 12:00 – 2:00 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. The funeral service will immediately follow in the funeral home chapel with Greg Lawson officiating. Interment will be in Shoals Memorial Gardens, Tuscumbia.
Winston was a veteran of the United States Army. He is preceded in death by his parents, Price Moats and Trannie Lewis; sister, Jennette Lawson; and son, James Church.
He is survived by his wife, Marion (Colene) Moats; children; Michelle Richardson (Reginald), Brenda McClendon (Anthony), and Johnny Church; daughter in law, Terisa Church; grandchildren, Breana Pennington, Andrew Richardson, Josh Minor, Blake Richardson, Matthew Church, Michael Church, Brandon Werner, Mikey Werner, Tiffany Claunch, Andrea Weeks, Lee Bates, and a host of great grand kids.
Pallbearers will be Michael Church, Matthew Church, Andrew Richardson, Kyle Pennington, Anthony McClendon, and Eric Walker.
The family would like to give special recognition to Matt Flannagin with Affinity Hospice.
