Nancy Polk Fisher, 78, of Muscle Shoals, Alabama, passed away peacefully on November 3, 2025.
Nancy was an extraordinary woman who deeply loved her family and friends. Born and raised with a strong sense of care and devotion, she was a loving daughter who always looked after her parents, Oscar David Polk and Jennie Lachick, and a proud mother, grandmother and great grandmother who filled her home with love.
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Billy Fisher, and her parents, Oscar David Polk and Jennie Lachick.
Nancy is survived by her children, Sean Nelson Polk (Kim), James Paul Fisher (Heather), Billy Joel Fisher (Kim), and Shane David Polk (Veronica); her cherished grandchildren Ashley, Emily, Jonathan, Samantha, Sophia, James, Marissa, Caelan, Austin, Christian, Zachery, Zoie, and Brendan; and her adored great-grandchildren Jaxson, Bella, Ben, Carter, and Nolan. She also leaves behind her sister, Colleen McTeague, her nephew Craig McTeague, and many dear friends who will miss her greatly.
Nancy cherished her mornings — they were her time to slow down and take in the world. With a cup of coffee and her morning cigarette, she’d often check the weather across the United States to see where her sons were traveling and how they were doing. She loved those quiet hours, when she could catch up with dear family and friends or spend time reading one of her favorite romance novels. Nancy also loved listening to country music and watching sports, especially cheering for her favorite teams — the Boston Red Sox and the South Carolina Gamecocks. It was in those simple, joyful moments that her caring heart and spirited nature shined the most.
Nancy’s warmth and unwavering love will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew her.
A celebration of Nancy’s life will be held on Friday, November 7, 2025 from 10-11 am at Colbert Memorial Chapel. Family and friends are welcome.
