Henry D. Sims, age 86, beloved father, grandfather, and husband, was called home to his Heavenly Father on November 3, 2025, at Marshall Medical Center South in Boaz, Alabama.
Henry was born on June 16, 1939, in Birmingham, Alabama, to the late Louise McCord Sims and Henry Chalmers Sims. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Rachel Inman Sims; infant daughter Jennifer Dyan Sims; his sister, Jane Johns; and his niece, Karen Jane Chappell.
He is survived by his sister, Carolyn Junkins; his daughter, Jada Hilyer (Ezra) Harris; his son, John C. (Deborah) Sims; seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cherished friends.
Henry dedicated his career to sales, a role perfectly suited to his warm personality. He genuinely never met a stranger; he was the kind of man who learned your story and made you feel like the most important person in the room. He carried this same warmth in his deep devotion to his faith, truly believing God had a unique purpose for everyone.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Union Grove #1 Missionary Baptist Church in Albertville, Alabama. Adams Brown Service Funeral Home, will be assisting the family with arrangements.
