Lynne Gibson Bates, age 68, of Falkville, Alabama, passed away on Thursday, October 30, 2025.Mrs. Bates was born on January 1, 1957, in Birmingham, AL., to Charles and Barbara Gibson. She was a 1975 graduate of Banks High School. She retired in 2004 after a long career with the Social Security Administration, having served the agency in Birmingham, AL; Frankfort, KY; and Cullman, AL.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dewey Glenn Bates; parents, Charles and Barbara Gibson; and a sister, Lisa Deerman.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughter Jennifer Lynne (Ambra) Minks; step-sons Clay Bates (Robin); and Steve Bates (Mary); step-daughter Glenda Bates; and step-grandchildren: Mindy Sheppard, Jamie Cisco, Britney Bates, Nicholas Bates, and Maggie Bates; and her great-grandchildren Alyssa, Kye, Maliyah, and Kamryn; nephew, Chip (Krissy) Deerman; 3 great nephews: Axel, Christian, and Kaylee Deerman and a host of other family members and friends.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, from 12:00 noon until the Celebration of Lynne’s life, which will begin at 2:00 P.M. at Moss Service Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Cullman City Cemetery.
