Visitation for Bobby Ray Vest, 83, will be Sunday, November 2, 2025, from 1:30PM to 3:00 PM, at Danville Baptist Church. A private service will immediately follow at 3:00 PM with Bro. Jack Bailey and Bro. Joe David Bailey officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial will be at Midway Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Vest was born November 3, 1941, in Lawrence County, to Leldon Edward Vest and Cora Leavie White Vest. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother. He was a friend to many and seldom met a stranger. Mr. Vest passed away on Thursday, October 20, 2025, at his residence. He was surrounded by his family.
Bobby was employed for 25 years at Yellow Freight Systems of Decatur, as a City Driver. In his spare time, he enjoyed riding motorcycles. His most memorable ride was to Key West and through the Florida Everglades.
He supported his community by serving, for 6 years, on the Morgan County Board of Education.
In his later years, his favorite spot was his front porch swing, where he enjoyed visiting with family and friends.
Preceding him in death were his wife of 62 years, Anne Robinson Vest, his parents, and a sister-Dewese Kaley.

Ten Grandchildren – Chris Vest (Shea), Matthew Vest (Abigail), Ryan Paul Stover, Bethanie Vest, Kensington Vest Feathers (Mitchell), Lawson Ransburgh, Zane Ransburgh, Anna Vest, Olivia Vest, and Presley Vest.
Five Great Grandchildren – Elsie Vest, Lydia Vest, Marshall Vest, Micah Vest, and Madelyn Vest.
Pallbearers will be Christopher Vest, Matthew Vest, Ryan Stover, Lawson Ransburgh, Zane Ransburgh, and John Black.
