It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, stepfather, brother, uncle, and friend, David “Red” Alan Crumpton, 68, on Sunday, October 26, 2025, in the comfort of his home.

Funeral services with military honors for David will be held on Thursday, October 30, 2025, at 3 PM in the Memory Chapel of New Albany Funeral and Cremation Care, with stories being shared by friends. Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 30, 2025, from 11 AM until the time of service in the Memory Chapel of New Albany Funeral and Cremation Care.

Born July 3, 1957, in Corinth, MS, to the late Rupert and Marvis Nolan Crumpton, David was a 1975 graduate of W.P. Daniel High School in New Albany. Working as a truck driver for companies such as Blue Mountain Trucking and Merchants Trucking in his early years, David went on to become a faithful and dedicated employee of Cotton Plant Transport for twenty-nine years before his retirement one year ago. He loved his job as a fleet manager and was a firm believer in hard work.

A Christian and of Baptist faith, David married his beloved wife, Jennie, in 2003, and together they lived life to the fullest. Whether traveling to see the ocean or the mountains, and rating each trip with each other, they simply enjoyed being together with their loyal canine, Lucy. David was an avid golfer and loved watching his favorite TV shows, including Fox News, The Big Bang Theory, and Gunsmoke. Whether it was a baseball game or a classic Western, he was always happiest just to have Jennie sitting beside him, even if she paid little attention to what was on the screen.

A humble man with a kind nature, David was a devoted husband and a wonderful provider. He cared deeply for Jennie and was her constant source of strength. He will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Jennie; one stepson, Toby Robison of Grand Rapids, MI, one sister, Glenda Lou Cox (Dudley) of Ashland, one niece, Kelsey Wilkerson, one nephew, Cole Wilkerson, two sisters-in-law, Jackie Tranbarter and Sarah Williams, one grandson by heart whom he loved as his own, Clayton Childers, his loyal canine companion, Lucy, and a host of friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Bobby Crumpton; and one sister, Gloria Wilkerson.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Steve Todd, Johnny Wilburn, Kelly Roberts, Toby Robison, Cole Wilkerson, John Childers, and Tommy Wilson.

New Albany Funeral and Cremation Care invites you to share memories with the Crumpton family.
