Tuscumbia Woman Dies From Injuries Received In Single-Vehicle Crash

MUSCLE SHOALS-The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency reports a single-vehicle accident has taken the life of a Tuscumbia Woman and sent a Sheffield woman to hospital with injuries:

“A single-vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 2:30 a.m. Sunday, October 26, has claimed the life of a Tuscumbia woman.

Majala M. West, 21, was fatally injured when the 2025 Ford Bronco, she was a passenger in, left the roadway, struck a culvert, and a guide wire before overturning. West was not using a seat belt at the time of the crash, was ejected and pronounced deceased at the scene.

Tamya S. Thirlkill, 20, of Sheffield, the driver of the Bronco, was also injured and transported to Helen Keller Hospital in Sheffield for medical treatment.

The crash occurred on Alabama 184, approximately three miles east of Muscle Shoals, in Colbert County.

Nothing further is available as Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.”
