Joyce Dean Sims Beck, age 76, of Albertville, passed away peacefully at her home and entered the presence of her Savior on October 17, 2025. She was born on April 1, 1949, to the late J.W. and Ila J. Sims.
Joyce was the epitome of a Christian woman…she comforted, she had a true servant’s heart, and she loved so unconditionally. She is loved by so many (related and unrelated alike) as Mama, Mom, Memom, Aunt Joycie, Mama Joyce, Misses Joyce. She was a devoted member of Rock Springs Baptist Church and lived her life grounded in faith, family, and service to others. She was a loving wife, mother, Memom, sister, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Marvin Beck; daughter, Jennifer Biss (Scott); son, Derek Beck (Heather); grandchildren, Laura Biss, Mari-Beth Biss, Maddox Beck, and Mollie Beck; and brothers, Larry, Van, Jerry, Tommy, and Sid Sims.
In addition to her parents, Joyce was preceded in death by her daughter, Amy Beck; sisters, Shirley Hughey, Frances Dabbs, and Cindy Hill; and brothers, Lewis, Steve, and Andy Sims.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, at Rock Springs Baptist Church, with Rev. Neal Chaffin, Bro. Nick Mitchell, and Bro. Joey Beck officiating. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery.
Pallbearers assisting will include Maddox Beck, Robert Sims, Chuck Sims, Jeremy Sims, Spencer Sims, and Nick Pluta.
The family will receive friends on Monday evening from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Adams Brown Service Funeral Home, and again at the church one hour prior to the service on Tuesday.
