Mrs. Carolyn C. Hillis Satterfield of Woodville, originally of Hazel Green, passed away on Friday. She was 88. She was a Christian and loved gospel music and attending church. In past years, she attended Bevills Chapel Baptist Church and Concord Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
Carolyn was a kind and loving person, was a hard worker, and enjoyed hummingbirds.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Virgil Odell Hillis; her second husband, Laudrey Satterfield; her parents, Buford & Ella Key; her grandson, Buford Wade Hillis Jr; her grandson, Benjamin Hillis. Her sisters, Davonia Clark and Francis Clark.
Surviving family members include her sons: Mike O. Hillis (Linda), Benny W. Hillis (Dena), Buford W. Hillis (Charlotte), Gary R. Hillis (Peggy); step-son, Jeff Satterfield (Lisa); Grandchildren: Beatrice Hillis, Ashley Hillis, Adam Hillis, and Randall Hillis; She is also survived by several great-granchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Monday evening from 5pm until 7pm at Hazel Green Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 2pm at the funeral home with Pastor Benny Berry officiating. Burial will then be in Cochran Cemetery in New Market.
