Dorothy Caroline Cyr Dorothy Caroline (Schulz) Cyr, of Fort Payne, passed away Thursday, October 9, 2025. She was born February 25, 1930, in Detroit, Michigan to the late Walter and Ella Schulz.
Dorothy was a Registered Nurse and last worked at Dekalb Regional Hospital. There she interacted with hospital patients as well as staff as the hospital’s Patient Representative. Dorothy was a talented quilter and won many ribbons at county fairs and then passed down these skills and projects to others.
She and her husband Bill were active members at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church where she played the organ and piano. They loved their home on the mountain and during their retirement years spent time gardening, feeding the deer and birds, and visiting with friends and family.
She is survived by the following beloved family, her children,
Cynthia Cyr Teague (David); Linda Cyr Beale (Billy) and William Walter Cyr (Jaylene); seven grandchildren; Oliver, Rita (Blake), Austin (Taylor), Michael (Catherine), Ashley (Nate), Jacob, and Korey (Nick); twelve
great-grandchildren; Mason, Griffin, Jameson, Bailey, Brinley, Archer, Calla, Emma, Millie, Adalynn, Braelynn, and Rilynn.
A Celebration of Life will be at 1 p.m., Saturday, October 18, 2025, at Wills Creek Village.
