Gurland Stanley Wales, 66, of Athens, Alabama, passed away on Saturday, June 1, 2013, at his home in Athens, Alabama.
Born Tuesday, September 10, 1946, in Athens, Alabama he was the son of the late Malon Wales and the late Kathleen Vickers Wales. He was also preceded in death by brother, Joe Mack Wales.
Surviving are wife, Barbara Wales, Athens, AL; son, Joey (Jada) Wales, Athens, AL, daughters, Christy (Jamar) Burden- Patrick, Athens, AL, Mary Kay Wales, Athens, AL; sisters, Janice Nichols, Elkmont, AL and Kathy (Mark) Bozee Elkmont, AL; sister-in-law, Renee Wales, Ardmore, AL; four grandchildren, Christopher Wales, Taylor Burden, Analey Burden, Lilyann Wales; and a host of other adopted grandchildren. Stanley will forever be loved, cherished, and remembered by all who knew him.
Funeral servcies will be at 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, June 4, 2013, at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home, Ardmore, Alabama with Bro. Carl Witty officiating. Burial will be in Hasting Cemetery, Ardmore, AL.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Monday, June 3, 2013, at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home, Ardmore, AL.
