Lucille Naomi Looney, age 96, of Decatur, Alabama passed away on Saturday, October 11, 2025.A visitation for Lucille will be held Sunday, October 19, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at First Baptist Church Decatur, 123 Church St NE, Decatur, AL 35601, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM. Lucille will be laid to rest in Roselawn Cemetery.
Lucille Looney is survived by Kathy Phillips, Beth Patterson (Terry), Jonathan Walworth, Brad Patterson (Courtney), Pamela Baker (Trey), Lori Beth Minch (Jacob), 7 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Herbert O. Cordes and mother, Agnes Ann Cordes, siblings, Charles Edward Cordes, Earnest A. Cordes, Melvin D. Cordes and her husband of 71 years, Edgar N. Looney.
Lucille was born and raised in Cullman, AL. When she married, they lived in Cullman two years, then moved to Decatur, AL. in 1956, where they raised two daughters and were active members of First Baptist Church.
Pallbearers will be Jonathan Walworth, Brad Patterson, Jack Walworth, David Cordes, Jeff Cordes and Jacob Minch.
