It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Edward Walter “Rob” Parker II, age 61. Rob was a devoted family man, dedicated worker, and cherished friend to many. His death was Wednesday, October 8, 2025 at Hospice Family Care in Huntsville, AL.
Born in Guntersville, AL on February 13, 1964, Rob was the cherished son of Edward Walter Parker and Dorothy Nell Swords Parker. He was of the Baptist faith and a lifetime resident of the Union Grove/Friendship community of Marshall County, AL. He and his wife of thirty-one years, Mary Beth Handschumacher Parker, created and provided a loving home for their family. Rob had earned his CDL driver’s license and spent much of his career working with Coca-Cola, where he was known for his reliability and strong work ethic.
Outside of work, Rob enjoyed caring for his lawn, cheering on Alabama football, and cooking out with loved ones. In his earlier years, he made many lasting memories while camping with his family.
Rob leaves behind a loving family including his wife, Mary Beth Handschumacher Parker; son, Joseph Edward Parker; daughters, Julie Anna McWhorter and Jaime Michelle Parker; eight grandchildren; one great grandchild; and sisters, Melissa Eubanks (David) and Becky Freeman.
In addition to his parents, Edward and Dorothy Parker, Rob was preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Jennifer Lynne Hinote and granddaughter, Kadance Leiann Parker.
A Celebration of Life and Memorial Service to honor Rob will be 2:00PM Saturday, October 11, 2025 at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel in Arab, AL. The family will receive and welcome friends and guests beginning at 1:00PM for a short visitation period. Brother Chris Johnson will officiate the service. Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel is honored to be entrusted with arrangements.
