Obituary of Nancy Sherran Thrasher With grace, grit, and God in her heart, Nancy Sharon Thrasher of Decatur, Alabama passed peacefully on the morning of October 5th, 2025, at 10am. She was 80 years old. Sharon left this world just the way she wanted-at home, in her own bed, surrounded by love and family. Her daughter Leslie, grandson Saxon, and son-in-law Jeff were by her side, holding space for her final journey.

Born on April 19, 1945, Sharon was a proud Alabama woman through and through. She spent many years working with Community Action in Decatur, where her quiet strength and steady hands helped lift others up. She believed in hard work, old-school values, and doing right by folks—whether they were kin or strangers.

Sharon was preceded in death by her daughter Nancy, her three sisters, and her beloved parents. She carried their memory with her every day.

She is survived by her daughter Leslie, grandson Saxon-who was the light of her life-and son-in-law Jeff, who she welcomed as one of her own. Her love for Saxon ran deep, and she lit up talking about him. She also loved a good trip to Tunica or Vegas, a football game on the TV, and a quiet moment to reflect on the Lord’s blessings.

Sharon’s faith was strong and unwavering. She didn’t need fanfare or fuss-just family, prayer, and peace. There will be no service at this time, per her wishes.

In her honor, we ask that you take a moment today to remember Sharon. Celebrate her 80 years. Say a prayer. Watch a little football. Or just sit still and be grateful. That’s how she’d want it.

She was ready. And we were blessed to know her.
