Donzell G. Sperry, beloved father, grandfather, and friend, was born on April 14, 1936, in Whitman, West Virginia. Don went to heaven on September 18, 2025, at the age of 89.
Don began his career at Reynolds Aluminum at the age of 22, working as a machinist before being promoted to General Foreman Manager. After dedicating many years to his trade, Don retired at age 47. He then started a new chapter by marrying Linda, moving to Florida, and later, in 2005, settled in Union Grove, AL, where he found peace and fulfillment.
He is survived by his daughter, Dianna Marie Sperry-Lee, and son, Albert R. Sperry, as well as his cherished grandchildren, Jennifer Tezak Hogan, Joseph Tezak, Rachel Tezak, and Nicholas Tezak—as well as great-grandchildren Kaylie, Evelyn, Brenden, Charlotte, and Lucas Tezak. Don was truly blessed to have the unwavering friendship of Pamela and Jon Manley, along with many great friends in Florida who brought joy to his life.
Don was preceded in death by his loving wife, Linda Sperry, and his brothers Charles, Harvey, and Herman Sperry.
Don will be laid to rest in Branchland, West Virginia at the Sperry Family Cemetery. There will be a Celebration of Life in Union Grove, Alabama. The date has not yet been selected. Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel is entrusted with arrangements.
