DECATUR-The sizzle of steaks and the smoky aroma of good food will fill the air on Saturday, September 27, 2025, as Sizzle & Smoke returns to Ingalls Harbor for its fifth year. This exciting community event, formerly known as River-Fest, promises a full day of food, music, and family fun—all while raising money for a great cause.
Event hours are 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Admission is free and open to the public.
At the heart of the event is a Steak Cook-off Association (SCA) sanctioned Double Steak Cook-Off Competition, where competitors ages 10 and up will showcase their skills for a chance at championship recognition. Registration is required to compete, with the deadline on event day.
Guests can enjoy more than just the competition. Food trucks, local vendors, live music, and family-friendly activities will fill the day with entertainment along the scenic banks of the Tennessee River. The event is also dog-friendly, welcoming leashed four-legged visitors to join in the fun. Most importantly, Sizzle & Smoke supports the Tennessee Valley Outreach Rescue Mission, Decatur’s only overnight homeless shelter. Proceeds from the event will help provide essential services to those in need.
“This event is about great food and fellowship, but more than that—it’s about supporting our neighbors and helping those who need it most,” said Matthew Richards, event organizer.
Sponsors include: Steak Cook-off Association, Decatur Morgan County Tourism, NUCOR of Decatur, Pepsi, Senator Arthur Orr, Enersolv, Southern Environmental Testing, Dr. Gerald New, and Redstone Federal Credit Union.
