A memorial celebration is being planned and will be announced at a later date.
Steve was a friend to many and a stranger to none. All who met him felt they had just met a new, old friend. Steve was a loving son, a musician, a writer, a lover and collector of all art forms, and a welcoming spirit. He was proud to be a son of Sheffield, Alabama. As the face of Another Man’s Treasure, Calico’s, The Fillin’ Station, The Ritz Theatre, and The Shoals Theatre, it is hard to find someone who did not know Steve Price.
Steve proudly graduated from Sheffield High School with the class of 1972, attended the University of Alabama, and graduated from the University of North Alabama where he wrote for the Flor-Ala. For the past 12 years Steve was the manager and welcoming face of The Shoals Theatre. He championed Muscle Shoals music and all of performing arts in our area.
Steve’s friends and family would like to thank Dr. John
Richardson, Nurse Practitioner Sara Murphy and Nurse Daniel Matchen, along with all doctors, nurses and staff of Grandview Hospital CICU for their loving care of Steve. It was not a surprise that they became like family in their love for Steve. We would also like to thank Earl McGuire for being the friend we all need this past year. Earl, Bart Kirchler, and the “coffee group” took good care of Steve and kept all the friends aware of his journey. To honor Steve, you may make a donation to Colbert County Animal Shelter or The Shoals Theatre in his name.
In Steve’s memory please enjoy a sunset, hug your mother and friends, listen to live music, watch a play, pet a dog, laugh loudly and often. It’s what Steve Price would do. Jus’ sayin’.
