Susan McGaugh Gordon of Tupelo, Mississippi, passed away unexpectedly on September 5, 2025, at the age of 75. Born in Greenville, Mississippi, on May 15, 1950, Susan spent most of her life in Tupelo, where she built a full and meaningful life surrounded by family and the work she enjoyed.
Over the years, Susan worked at various churches, the Tupelo Animal Clinic, and for more than 20 years as the pastor’s secretary at Harrisburg Baptist Church. Her steady presence, caring nature, and reliability left a lasting impression on those she worked with.
In 1968, she married Billy Earl Gordon, and together they shared more than five decades of love and partnership. Susan is survived by her husband; her daughters, Angela Fox and Melissa Schaefer; her son-in-law, Len Schaefer; and her grandchildren, Ethan, Luke, and Beth Anne Fox. She is also survived by her sister, Alana McGaugh, and leaves behind her beloved Poodle, Lacey.
Those who knew Susan will remember her warmth, her fun personality, and the laughter she brought into the lives of her family and friends. She will be deeply missed and forever loved.
A memorial service will be held at Holland Funeral Directors on Tuesday, September 9, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
