Lola Doris (Lott) Blevins was born on October 11, 1932, and passed to her eternal home on September 2, 2025, at the age of 92, in her home.
Raised in Crane Hill, Alabama, by her loving parents, George and Flossie Lott, she grew up with her sisters, Elmira and Theresa, and her brother, Dewel. Lola was active in Cold Springs High School as a cheerleader, the lead in the school play, and a guest singer on the radio in Cullman. After high school, she met and married a young Airman named C.A. Blevins. Following C.A.’s graduation from Alabama Polytechnic Institute (Auburn University), they settled in Falkville, Alabama, where C.A. worked as the Ag Teacher at Falkville High School. Lola contributed to First Baptist Church by helping with Vacation Bible School and the Girls Auxiliary. She also worked at Falkville High School and the Falkville Post Office.
She enjoyed rescuing stray cats and saved many long-lost felines. Her greatest joy came from raising her children, Chris and Barbara. When her grandchildren and great-grandchildren arrived, she ensured that holidays and family gatherings were memorable. Her Easter baskets became legendary. Her gentle, quiet nature was a blessing to all who knew her. She loved and was loved by everyone.
The service for Lola Blevins will be 11 AM, September 6, at First Baptist Church in Falkville, Alabama. The family will receive friends starting at 10 AM. Burial will be in Cook Cemetery.
She is survived by: her Husband- C.A. Blevins, Son – Chris (Pam) Blevins, Daughter – Barbara (Milan) Dekich, her Grandchildren – Christal (Hayes) Ellett, Michael Dekich, Hannah (Charlie) Gillis, Haydn Blevins. and Great-grandchildren – Jude, Jesse, Chandler Gillis.
Pallbearers will be Haydn Blevins, Charlie Gillis, Michael DeKich, Hayes Ellett, Don Rowe, and Tim Womack.
