Cherokee Man Riding Bike Dies After Being Hit By Vehicle

CHEROKEE-The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency reports a two-vehicle,accident involving a bucycle has taken the life of a Cherokee man:

“A two-vehicle crash involving a bicyclist occurred at approximately 7 p.m. Sunday, August 31, and has claimed the life of a Cherokee man.

Johnathan P. Mullins, 38, was fatally injured when the electric bicycle he was operating was struck by the 2018 Hyundai Sonata driven by Samantha M. Grimes, 22, of Iuka, Miss.issippi Mullins was thrown from the bicycle and pronounced deceased at the scene.

The crash occurred on U.S. 72 near the 4 mile marker, approximately seven miles west of Cherokee, in Colbert County.

Nothing further is available as Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.”
