Rita King McKelvey, 52, of Moulton, passed away Tuesday, August 19, 2025 at her home. Visitation will be from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM on Sunday, August 24, 2025 at Lawrence Funeral Home. A memorial service will follow at 3:00 PM at the funeral home with Pastor Mitchell Hallmark officiating.
Born on December 29, 1972 to the late Alton and Brenda Latham King, Rita attended Hatton and Lawrence County High Schools. She was a member of LCDC (Lawrence County Dream Center) Church and enjoyed sewing, conspiracy theories, hiking, crafting, fishing and playing with her pets.
Survivors include her husband of 4 years, Fletcher V. McKelvey, Jr.; children, Klinton Grider, Decota King, and Ashley McCollum; grandchildren, Brayden Shelton, Kayleigh Shelton, and Rose McCollum; brother, Eric King; her goodest boy, Gabriel McKelvey and several nieces, nephews, and extended family.
The family extends special thanks to Megan Terry and Dr. Zeke Nichols for their help in caring for Rita.
