Jimmy Blaine Upton, age 81, of Hamilton, Alabama, passed away Saturday, August 16, 2025, at North Alabama Medical Center in Florence, Alabama. He was born in Vina, Alabama on Monday, February 28, 1944, to Curfew Upton and Mamie Dorena Spencer Upton.
Jimmy was a Pentecostal pastor for thirty-six years.
Visitation will be from 12-2 p.m. Wednesday, August 20, 2025, at Marion County Funeral Home. Service will follow at 2 p.m. in the Chapel with Bro. Kevin Palmer officiating. Burial will be at Hamilton Memory Gardens.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Vernell Upton; parents, Curfew “Chock” and Mamie Dorena Spencer Upton; brothers, Kenneth Upton, Larry Wade Upton; sisters, Billie Burt McCarley, Betty Carolyn Roberts; son-in-law, Michael McCarley.
He leaves to cherish his memories; his children, Brian Keith (Debbie) Upton, Teresa McCarley, Jeffrey Upton, Amy Upton; grandchildren, Christopher McCarley (Daphne Ward), Jennifer (Tyler) North, Beth (Lucas) Hollis, Nathaneal Bayrd, Robert Bayrd, Tyler Upton; great-grandson, Elijah Ward and a host nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
