William Michael “Mike” Sandlin, 63, of Decatur, Alabama, passed away on Saturday, August 16, 2025. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 21, 2025, at 10:00 AM at Shelton Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Paul Cheshier officiating. Visitation will take place on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM, also at Shelton Funeral Home Chapel.
Mike was born in Decatur, Alabama, on February 13, 1962, to William Wayne and Jean Rogers Sandlin. For 26 years, he proudly owned and operated Pest Management. Mike loved being outdoors—whether it was fishing, relaxing by the pool, or spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was an avid Alabama Crimson Tide fan “Roll Tide!” and also enjoyed cheering for the Atlanta Braves.
Above all, Mike was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. His warmth, kindness, and love for others will live on in the hearts of those who knew him. Though we grieve his loss, we take comfort in knowing he is now at peace and reunited with loved ones.
He was preceded in death by his beloved son, William Jarrett Sandlin.
Mike is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Shari Sandlin; his parents, Wayne and Jean Sandlin; daughters, Riley (Chris) Vaughn and Britt (Brittain) Sanford; sister, Wendy (Kevin) Hall; brother, Jonathan Sandlin; and his cherished grandchildren: Deacon Vaughn, Wheeler Vaughn, Sandlin Vaughn, Thea Sanford, and Lila Sanford.
Pallbearers will be: Jonathan Sandlin, Easton Sandlin, Chris Vaughn, Brittain Sanford, Deacon Vaughn, Wheeler Vaughn, Bob Davis, and Jon Vest.
