Orvil Ray Landers Jr. passed away on August 15th, 2025, after winning a three year battle with ALS, or Lou Gehrig’s Disease. He is now reunited with his late wife, Renee Landers, who preceded him in death by only two months after a decades long battle with Parkinson’s disease.
Orvil was a devoted husband, a loving Daddy, a wonderful Pops to his grandchildren, and a loyal friend. To know him was to love him and he treated everyone he met with kindness and warmth; he had never met a stranger. Orvil loved his family deeply, and he often showed that love through cooking and grilling for his loved ones. He loved food (the weirder the better), dirty martinis, golf, bourbon, Auburn football, mountain biking, cars (especially his ’65 Stang), a good Cuban cigar, and being surrounded by his family. He will be remembered for his unwavering strength, his endearingly goofy humor, his beautiful spirit, and his unforgettable charm. He was so immensely loved by his daughters and his absence leaves an emptiness that will never be filled because there was no one else on earth like our Daddy and we are so incredibly lucky that he was ours. We love him, we miss him, we are so proud of him. He was preceded in death by his Parents and his wife, Renee` Landers.
Visitation will be Monday from 6:00PM-8:00PM at Peck Funeral Home.
