John George Vafinis, 69, Tuscumbia, passed away on Wednesday, August 13, 2025. A private service will be held for the family, with interment in Oakwood Cemetery, Sheffield.
John was preceded in death by his wife, Taylor Dewanna Thompson; parents, George John and Evangeline Nichols Vafinis; and sister, Sophia Shelton.
He is survived by his siblings, Victoria Vafinis Horne, Andrea Vafinis Tramel, and Frank George Vafinis; stepchildren, Toddman S. Thompson (Cindy), Monaire Murphy (Richard), and Ty R. Thompson (Telina); nieces and nephews, Andy Underwood, Jennifer Adams, Erik Tramel, Hunter Tramel, and Spencer Vafinis; and great-nephew, Zack Watson.
