Pernie Carlene Smith, 91, of Danville, Alabama passed away Thursday, August 14, 2025, at her residence surrounded by her loved ones. Visitation will be from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Monday, August 18, 2025, at Lawrence Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at 2:00 PM on Monday, August 18, 2025, at Lawrence Funeral Home with Charles Williams officiating.
Born on August 18, 1933, to Coy and Flora Aaron Stracener. Pernie was an active member of Lindsey Hall Holy Church of Christ. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and friend.
Survivors include her children, Divonne Ann (Roger) Davis, Belinda (Patrick) James, Robin (Tommy) Maples, Joe (Portia) Smith, Wallace T. Smith, and Dwight Smith; fifteen grandchildren; twenty-two great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; special niece, Joyce (Randall) Smith; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Pernie was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Troy Smith; parents, Coy and Flora Stracener.
