Clyde E. Davis, age 84, of Athens, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 12th, 2025, at Limestone Health Facility. Born on June 6th, 1941, in Athens, Clyde was the son of Clarence and Nina Tarpley Davis.
Clyde is survived by his wife, Vivian Davis, and their children: daughters Yolanda Davis, Gail Long, and Ann Davis, as well as his son, Chris Davis (Reda). His legacy continues through his six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, along with a host of nieces and nephews.
Clyde is preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Nina Davis, and two sisters.
Friends and family are invited to gather and pay their respects during the visitation on Thursday, August 14th, 2025, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home. A funeral service to honor Clyde’s life will be held on Friday, August 15th, at 11:00 am at the same location. The service will be officiated by Terry Brown and Jerry Collins. Clyde will be laid to rest at Gatlin Cemetery. The pallbearers honoring Clyde’s life will be Jason Vair, Eugene Blakely, Dustin Green, Braiden Smith, Layne Davis, and Josh Blake.
