Funeral service for Richard J. Schoenberger, 79, will be Friday, August 15, 2025 at 1:00 PM at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Nathan Childers officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, August 15, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Peck Funeral Home.
Mr. Schoenberger died on Tuesday, August 12, 2025 at Decatur Health & Rehab Center. He was born May 3, 1946, in Ohio, to Richard Junior Schoenberger, Sr. and Gloria Joyce Kilpatrick Schoenberger.
He was a member of Oak Forest Baptist Church, and prior to his retirement, was employed by BP-Amoco, as a Chemical Operator. He loved his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren and enjoyed watching them play ball. He attended Pensacola Junior College, where he ran track and threw Shot Put. He also was a coach for youth league baseball and basketball. He loved the outdoors, including fishing, hunting, and camping. He also loved his dog “Precious”.
His wife, Paula Schoenberger, and his parents preceded him in death.

Sons – Ricky J. Schoenberger (Tami), and
Paul Schoenberger (Beth)
Sisters – Debbie Barker (Paul), and
Lisa Ray,
Three Grandchildren – Anna Parker (Kenney),
Cole Schoenberger (Meghan), and
Malerie Schoenberger,
Seven Great Grandchildren,
Three Nieces and Two Nephews.
Pallbearers will be David Lemmond, Scott Bedingfield, Kenney Parker, Kain Parker, and Kobe Parker.
