Helen Marie Rodgers Hardison died Tuesday, August 12, 2025, at NHC Lewisburg. The daughter of Frank and Mildred Ruth Chilton Rodgers, she was born October 1, 1937, at home in Lewisburg, Tennessee. She professed her faith in Jesus Christ at First Baptist Church, Lewisburg, as a teenager. When First Baptist Church formed East Commerce Baptist Church, she became a charter member with her family and remained a member throughout her life.

She was a 1956 graduate of Marshall County High School. After graduation she began her career in retail working over the years for Kuhn’s Variety Store, Alford’s Pharmacy, H&S Pharmacy #1, and Sappington’s Jewelry. She simultaneously operated Accents on Windows, which provided many homes with beautiful draperies, bedspreads, comforters, placemats, cushions, and table runners.

On March 29, 1960, she married a fellow classmate, Donald Hardison, who preceded her in death in September 2020 after 60 years of marriage. The Hardisons had no children of their own but lovingly supported the younger Rodgers children. She was also known to provide meals for her elderly neighbors.

She was preceded in death by her parents and six siblings: James Edward “Buster” Rodgers, William Franklin Rodgers, Martha Adell Rodgers, Larry Eugene Rodgers, Paul Wade Rodgers, and Pauline Rodgers. She is survived by one sister Katy Rodgers Luna of Lewisburg and sisters-in-law, Betty Jo Hardison Lauer (Quentin) of Arkansas, Annette Wilhelm Rodgers of Lewisburg, Beckie Perryman Rodgers of Chapel Hill, and Margaret Dean Rodgers of Cornersville. She is also survived by five nephews: Jason Luna, Philip Rodgers, David Rodgers, Chris Rodgers, all of Lewisburg, and Brent Lauer of Arkansas; four nieces: Janet Rogers, Marilyn Wiles of Lewisburg, Cassie Farmer of Chapel Hill and Erica Suskie of Arkansas. Numerous great-nieces and nephews also survive.

Visitation will be held Friday, August 15, 2025, at London Funeral Home from 12:00 Noon until the 2:00 p.m. funeral hour.

The funeral will be conducted at London Funeral Home at 2:00 p.m. with burial following in the Whorley Cemetery on Finley Beech Road.
