She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Joe Norman, and several brother and sisters.
Survivors include her son Brian Smithson (Keila); one stepdaughter, Tippy Vanderpool (Jim); two brothers Leonard Berryman (Linda) and Alfred Berryman. She is also survived by her three grandchildren, Austin Garner, Della and Dalton Smithson; and her great-granddaughter, Rylee Garner.
Mrs. Norman was a member of Salem Springs Baptist Church and cooked on a tugboat on the Tennessee and Mississippi Rivers. She liked bowling and she loved working with her hands. She was always a hard worker.
The funeral will be Thursday, August 14, 2025, at 2 p.m. at McConnell Funeral Home Chapel with the visitation from 12 – 1:50 p.m. Burial will be at New Salem Cemetery.
