Charles Dwayne Morgan was born in Waynesboro, TN  on December 14, 1962, to the late  Charles Eugene Morgan and Clara Nell McCurry Morgan. Dwayne graduated Wayne County High School in Waynesboro, TN the class of 1981. In his career, after working as a mail carrier and on the towboat he began working for the Tennessee Department of Corrections at the Turney Center Annex in Clifton, TN as a correctional officer. In this field, he rose to the rank of Sargent and finally retired after 30 plus years. It was working as a correctional officer that he met his wife Regina  Gail (Hill) Morgan, who survives him, They were married on December 24, 2015. Growing up in Wayne County, Dwayne developed a deep love for the outdoors. It was here he could be found in his moments of leisure with his children and grandchildren hunting and fishing.  He was also a diehard football fan, sharing a love of the Tennessee Vols with his sons.

Dwayne passed from this life at his home in  Waynesboro, TN on August 05, 2025 making his stay on this earth some 62 years, 7 months and 12 days.

Those left to honor his memory are his wife Regina; sons Charles Zachary Morgan  and Stephen Kyle Morgan  (Brittany) all of Waynesboro, TN;  His step children Mandy Lee Russell (Ken)  of Clifton, TN and Michael Ryan McDonald (Holly)of Clarksville, TN; grandchildren Blaine Durham, Emma Hipps, Heidi McDonald, Adaleigh Morgan and Reece McDonald and great- grandchild River Durham; siblings Jackie Pevahouse (Bobby) of Clifton, TN, Marilyn McClain (Jeff) of Nashville, TN and Keith “Kojack” Morgan of Waynesboro, TN

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister Patricia Brewer.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday August 09, 2025 at 2:00 pm at the Bates-Love Funeral and Cremation, LLC chapel with Jimmy Turnbo officiating. Burial will follow after the service at the Walnut Grove Cemetery.

Visitation will begin Saturday August 09, 2025 from 11:00 am till 2:00 pm service time all at the Bates-Love Funeral and Cremation Chapel in Waynesboro, TN.
