Bobby Leo Cooper Mr. Bobby Leo Cooper, age 81, a beloved resident of the Morgan City/Union Hill community in
Morgan County, Alabama, passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, August 4, 2025.
Bobby was born on June 30, 1944, in Morgan County, Alabama, the first-born son of Leo
Cooper and Verna Mae Parker Cooper. A man of faith, Bobby was a member of Pine Ridge
Baptist Church.
He was well known in the community as an accomplished owner and operator of his own
drywall and sheetrock company. Bobby was a true jack of all trades and took tremendous pride
in his work and countless hobby projects. He loved spending time outdoors, especially working
in his yard and tinkering with his lawn mower. He was an extremely generous individual. He
loved working with his hands and crafted many beautiful birdhouses. He could often be found in
the local thrift stores browsing and searching out old record players, many of which he could
skillfully repair. One of Bobby’s greatest joys was listening to Gospel music, especially records
made by his uncle, Richard Parker, which he often played on Sunday mornings.
Bobby is survived by his brother, Freddie Cooper; his sister, Patsy Mae Hyatt; and a host of
nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Leo and Verna Mae Cooper, Bobby was preceded in death by his
brother, Billy Joe Cooper; and his sisters, Jimmie Ann Allen and Betty Lou Bowling.
The family has chosen to honor Bobby’s wishes for cremation. A Celebration of Life will be
planned.
